Garry Crystal is a multi award-winning director; his short films “Bertie”, “The Fox and the Rabbit” and “Bobby” have been selected for and won awards at numerous Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying international film festivals. His latest short film “Down” has commenced the festival circuit and recently won the “Best Screenplay” award at the Academy Award, BAFTA and Canada Screen Award qualifying Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival.
Garry also works as a freelance documentary editor and has edited BAFTA, EMMY, Grierson and RTS winning and nominated documentaries and films. The subject matters for which range from current affairs to observational documentaries and have included Danny Boyle, Banksy, Stephen Hawking and Tracey Emin. In 2014, he was nominated for “Best Editing” at the Jackson Hole Film Festival.
Garry also used to be a TV actor and to his great pride and joy was regularly cast as a hospital patient in leading UK dramas such as “Children’s Ward” and “Peak Practice”.
In his spare time he runs marathons, half marathons and takes part in Tough Mudders!
